Gary’s education began in mechanical engineering following his discharge from the air force but it wasn’t long before the lure of the commercial real estate business became irresistible and having learnt the ropes at a Los Angeles brokerage he set up his own firm in Santa Monica dealing mostly in apartment houses. He later expanded his repertoire to include all manner of retail operations and office buildings.
The experience of negotiating a multitude of commercial transactions enabled him to embark on the next phase of his career which included launching a series of limited partnerships secured by commercial investment opportunities. Jolyon, having joined Gary during the brokerage phase of the business went on, with Gary, to create a number of extremely successful partnerships all of which generated way above market returns for their investors. Gary’s next move came in the senior housing sector of the industry where he successfully closed the sale of a large senior complex in Michigan in 1996.
This experience together with a number of other successful senior housing transactions afforded him the ability to launch a business plan to exclusively work in this unique segment of the business. He has since spent many years in the field of merger and acquisitions of healthcare and retirement properties. Gary understands the complexities of operating a senior healthcare/retirement facility, thus allowing him to properly analyze an offering.
In years past Gary and Jolyon have created several group investments. The early formations were structured as Private Placement Offering wherein we jointly acted as General Partners managing both the property and the partnership its self.

Jolyon began life in the United States working as a foreign correspondent for British & European publications but later changed careers in favour of commercial real estate.
He and Gary spent the best part of the next 20 years working as brokers and later launching a series of highly successful limited partnerships secured by a combination of apartment houses, office properties and retail centres.
Gary and Jolyon have since moved into the senior housing sector of the real estate industry and again operating as brokers have orchestrated the sale of many millions of dollars’ worth of senior communities. They are now applying a lifetime of experience in an array of commercial property enterprises as general partners in the syndication of senior communities
across the United States.

Larry has an extensive background in business ventures. With the Avery Company since 1991, he has facilitated transactions nationwide, received an MBA, has been a principal or advisor with small and medium sized businesses as well as non-profit ventures working through the complex issues of mergers and acquisitions.
Early in his career he held operating and marketing management positions for national companies leading to establishing a large furniture rental company in California that was acquired and merged with a national conglomerate. Following this he turned around an ailing business, developed a business plan implementing a new division for a company and developed new markets for an engineering/design firm.
These experiences brought him to the attention of and recruited by the Los Angeles mayor’s office to design, develop, fund raise and implement an economic/work force development program in impoverished urban areas, a partnership between private industry/city/state/federal/school district/state college organizations.
